OK City to Albuquerque

Got an early start since this was the longest day of the trip (540 miles). We gained an hour when we passed into New Mexico and MDT. The scenery was great in OK, Texas and New Mexico, the first real western scenery with sagebrush, mesas, buttes and mountains. We made a number of stops on the way to break up the trip. Included were the Cadillac Ranch near Amarillo and a search for a McDonalds strawberry sundae for Jeff, finally found in Santa Rosa, NM. Jeff and family headed into town to tour and eat. We stayed back to watch the dogs and take turns at the Homewood Suites reception. Almost 2,000 miles under our belts and tomorrow we will arrive in Gilbert, AZ.
