South Mountain

South Mountain is south of Phoenix (duh) and offers a spectacular view of the entire valley. We had a lazy early morning and then drove to South Mountain. As we drove in South Phoenix along the base it really didn't look like much but we continued on. As we drove up to the mountain and then on to the mountain and its steep roads which clung to the side of the mountain all the way up with a number of switchbacks we finally made it to Dobbins Lookout and Danielle could release her death grip on the armrest and breath again. Which was heartily recommended to take full advantage of the breathtaking views. Not only of the valley but of the mountain terrain around you. Jeff is taking us to the airport later tonight so we can catch a 12:50 AM flight to Dallas-Fort Worth then on to Orlando arriving around 10:30 tomorrow morning. It will be a long night.
